Fujioka Haruhi, a poor, tomboyish girl attending the prestigious Ouran Academy only by a scholarship enters the third Music Room looking for a place to read. Not knowing it was where the Host Club intentionally used their charming abilities to please the costumers. (female students of Ouran Academy) They realize it's silly, but continue it anyway. Haruhi intends to leave the Music Room but before this is happens she breaks an expensive vase. Not being able to pay for it she was forced to perform odd jobs until they realize she'd make a better club member. Even after they find out she's a girl, they all pay along. Haruhi thinks it's insane, but also believes that they're good people and continues with the charade as well.
